Army NCO Prep is a study aid. This page says where it stands with the Army, where its content comes from, and what it can and cannot tell you about how you will do at a board.

Army NCO Prep is not the Army's

Army NCO Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Government, or any government agency. It is not an official product of any of them. Nothing in it has been reviewed or approved by the Army.

This app uses Army rank structure, Army terminology and Army publications because that is what a board asks about. That is not a claim of any relationship with the Army.

The questions are ours

Every question in the app was written by this project. They are not extracts from an Army test, and there is no official Army question bank behind them.

Each question is written against a publication and carries the citation, so you can go and read the source for yourself. A citation tells you where a question came from. It does not make the question official.

The publications are not ours

The Army publications the app downloads for you are official documents, publicly releasable, and served as we received them. They are not edited, summarized or corrected. What you open is the document.

What the audit date means

The app's About page shows when the content was last audited. That is when the app's questions were last checked against the publications they cite.

It does not mean those publications have not changed since. The Army revises regulations on its own schedule, and one can be updated the day after an audit. An audit date tells you when the content was last looked at. It does not tell you that nothing has moved.

And an audit is a check, not a proof. It is people reading this app's questions against the publications they cite, and people miss things. Where a question does not match the publication it cites, the publication is right.

What a score means

Quiz scores and recitation scores are practice feedback. They show you which questions you keep getting wrong and which lines you keep dropping, so you know where your time is worth spending.

No score in the app predicts a board result. It does not know your board, your board president, or what they will choose to ask. A strong score here is a good sign about your preparation and nothing further.

The board is the authority

A board president and the current regulation outrank the app, always. If a board member tells you something that contradicts what you read here, they are the authority in that room.

Before a board, verify what matters against the current publication. The app is where you study. It is not where you check.
